The Green Seed Project will start filming as four friends get on the road for a 4 week road trip of a lifetime to find the nations perspective on sustainability. We will show that we can all do our part to change this world and have fun while doing it.
We are going to pack up the camera and the bare essentials into a Ford Escape Hybrid and head from the Bay area to New York. There will be no hotel stays on this trip, as we will stay with distant relatives, friends and complete strangers as we make our way across the states to meet the nation. We will be stopping in several cities including: San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Dallas, Riverside, Los Angeles, and small towns along the way. We are in search of the nation’s perspectives on sustainability. We will find out what works, simple solutions and misconceptions that people have and also, what being a leader in sustainability can do for us as a nation. With this trip, we hope to plant the seeds addressing both sides of the issues to help educate people on sustainability and initiate change.
Sustainability has been expressed as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability for future generations to meet their own needs. Many aspects of sustainability will be touched upon; the main focus will be energy production and consumption. What are the nation’s needs in regards to energy and how can we find sustainable answers? Within this realm, alternative energy sources, transportation and community development will be the highlighted points.
While on the road, we will be working with Greenopolis.com in providing video blogs for constant updates on the status of the project and the day-to-day adventures of being on the road. These blogs will let people know who we have been talking to, show some behind the scenes clips and also get feed back from the viewers. Throughout the documentary we will be meeting up with different experts in the field and going on tours of sustainability labs, manufacturing companies as well as solar fields and wind farms. Lets not forget the local people we hope to meet, stay, and see the town with.
